Â³Âº        band’s back catalogue, but sits as a true               Âº Â³
Â³Âº        contender for ‘best album’ amongst the rising           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        volume of albums released by their                      Âº Â³

Â³Âº        From the start of the album, you are treated to         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        an infectious and instant dose of power metal           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        that launches you head first into the nautical          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        imagery that the band prides themselves on              Âº Â³
Â³Âº        adopting. “Black Skies Red Flag”, “Warmongers”,         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        and “Black Bart” are all tremendously anthemic,         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        and seemingly written to grab that maximum              Âº Â³
Â³Âº        attention and appeal.                                   Âº Â³

Â³Âº        The album structure also beautifully captures           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        the best aspects of the band. By alternating            Âº Â³
Â³Âº        tracks with anthemic masterpieces like “Blood           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        Moon Rising” and “Into the West”, followed by           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        classic power metal melodies like “Stick to Your        Âº Â³
Â³Âº        Guns” and “Blood Moon Rising”, the album gains          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        an intense momentum that sets in from inception         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        and continues until the final notes ring out.           Âº Â³

Â³Âº        Running Wild have found a song-writing formula          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        that works for them as a band, and have refined         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        this over their career. Perhaps one of the              Âº Â³
Â³Âº        greatest features of the album is the richness          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        and immersive nature of its songs. Those that           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        are familiar with Running Wild will already be          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        aware of this, but the vast imagery that is             Âº Â³
Â³Âº        painted in each of their tracks is something            Âº Â³
Â³Âº        that sets them apart from other bands at their          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        inception, and which continues to set them apart        Âº Â³

Â³Âº        There is a lot of depth to this album, which            Âº Â³
Â³Âº        particularly stems from the rich guitar tones           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        that are present on most tracks, even taking            Âº Â³
Â³Âº        centre-stage on instrumental track “The Depth of        Âº Â³
Â³Âº        the Sea”. The musicianship is beautifully               Âº Â³
Â³Âº        constructed across each track, and - although           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        there is plenty of music to listen to on the            Âº Â³
Â³Âº        album - the sheer brilliance of the song just           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        leaves you wanting more.                                Âº Â³

Â³Âº        As a way to perfectly close out the album, “Last        Âº Â³
Â³Âº        of the Mohicans” does what very few tracks can          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        do. Seemingly built out of thousands of small           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        parts, the track presents itself as the perfect         Âº Â³
Â³Âº        statement of the band’s career to this stage.           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        With some scintillating sections, this song is          Âº Â³
Â³Âº        an absolutely momentous and memorable musical           Âº Â³
Â³Âº        moment that stands tall in an album that                Âº Â³
Â³Âº        contains many memorable sections, and is                Âº Â³
Â³Âº        definitely an apt closing to the affair.                Âº Â³

Â³Âº        As a band that has continued to remain relevant         Âº Â³
