AC/DC is one of the biggest bands on º ³ ³º the planet and are forging ahead and moving up º ³ ³º the ladder of the ‘Greatest Bands of All Time” º ³ ³º list. This is an amazing feat when you consider º ³ ³º that before the seminal Back in Black album, º ³ ³º critics hated this band and blasted them with º ³ ³º the release of every album calling them º ³ ³º juvenile, untalented and noisy. Now, they are º ³ ³º media darlings and rock royalty. They deserve º ³ ³º the accolades but it is funny what happens when º ³ ³º the cool kids find out they were wrong about º ³ ³º something. Instead of admitting it, they just º ³ ³º take it as their own and move on. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º This is another superb DVD/Blu Ray. The band º ³ ³º plays to a jam-packed soccer stadium full of º ³ ³º people hopping up and down the entire concert. º ³ ³º They sing along to the guitar parts and to every º ³ ³º word. AC/DC does not play in this area often so º ³ ³º the reaction is that of religious fervor. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º The band responds, as they always do, by º ³ ³º blasting out a show of classic tunes, huge hits º ³ ³º and a few deep album cuts for the die-hard fans. º ³ ³º It was great to see “Dog Eat Dog” and “Hell º ³ ³º Ain’t a Bad Place to Be” back in the set list. º ³ ³º Of course, it is the massive hits, º ³ ³º “Thunderstruck,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” º ³ ³º “Highway to Hell,” “Hells Bells” and “For Those º ³ ³º About to Rock” that bring the house down. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º The concert was part of the Black Ice world tour º ³ ³º so several tunes from that album are peppered in º ³ ³º and Rosie even rides a gigantic locomotive like º ³ ³º it’s Bon Scott’s pecker - great fun indeed. This º ³ ³º band is still able to put on a great show as º ³ ³º they defy age. AC/DC are the real deal and one º ³ ³º of the best at what they do, but real rockers º ³ ³º knew that back in 1977, now didn’t we? º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³º AC/DC are an Australian Hard rock band, formed º ³ ³º in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. The º ³ ³º band is commonly classified as hard rock and are º ³ ³º considered pioneers of heavy metal,though they º ³ ³º themselves have always classified their music as º ³ ³º simply "rock and roll". To date they are one of º ³ ³º the highest grossing bands of all time. AC/DC º ³ ³º underwent several line-up changes before º ³ ³º releasing their first album, High Voltage, in º ³ ³º 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist º ³ ³º Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in º ³ ³º 1977 for the album Powerage. Within months of º ³ ³º recording the album Highway to Hell, lead singer º ³ ³º and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on 19 February º ³ ³º 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol º ³ ³º consumption. The group briefly considered º ³ ³º disbanding, but Scott's parents urged them to º ³ ³º continue and hire a new vocalist. Ex-Geordie º ³ ³º singer Brian Johnson was auditioned and selected º ³ ³º to replace Scott. AC/DC declined º ³ ³º in popularity soon after drummer Phil Rudd was º ³ ³º fired in 1983 and was replaced by future Dio º ³ ³º drummer Simon Wright, though the band resurged º ³ ³º in the early 1990s with the release of The º ³ ³º Razors Edge. Phil Rudd returned in 1994 (after º ³ ³º Chris Slade, who was with the band from 1990- º ³ ³º 1994, was asked to leave in favour of him) and º ³ ³º contributed to the band's 1995 album º ³ ³º Ballbreaker.
